Director of Sustainability Initiatives position

Firm now recruiting for a Director of Sustainability Initiatives, responsible for positioning the company as a leader in the area of sustainability and serving as a highly visible advocate of corporate social responsibility. Viewed as one of the company's most entrepreneurial roles, this executive will develop the company's strategy for leading the charge on issues impacting labor, the environment, and the community through voluntary initiatives and outreach.

This is a newly created position reporting to the Senior Vice President of Government Relations and Community Affairs and supervising one manager and a shared support staff. This individual will champion ideas that incorporate multi-functional approaches to address strategic opportunities company-wide. Externally, this individual will be called upon to deliver presentations and participate in media interviews as a sustainability expert.

Qualifications:

· Post graduate degree preferred.
· Minimum 7-10 years experience working on corporate sustainability issues from a corporate or business point of view.
· Experience in developing a Corporate Social Responsibility report.
· Specific work experience with environmental and conservation oriented NGOs.
· Existing relationships with leaders in the sustainability arena preferred.
· Experience in public speaking, presentations, and media interviews as a sustainability expert.
